The scope and quality of the overall programme was universally applauded and almost all sessions were over-subscribed.

Seminar Timeline for 2012 event

NOW – Proposal selection

- October 14th– Proposal submission closes, however, we're still happy to hear if you have any good ideas! See below for details on how to submit a proposal
- October 18th – selections made by Steering Committee
- Mid-November – selected proposals notified
- January 5th – Presentations must be submitted by speakers for Steering Committee approval
If you want to put a proposal forward, here are some guidelines.

We are looking for original content; research that will be unveiled at the show; new ideas and innovation that will appeal to a range of job functions; projects that have made a huge impact on your business.
If your proposal is selected, a PowerPoint of the presentation must be submitted to the Seminar Manager by January 5th (further information will be provided to selected presenters in the Speaker Packs).
Taking into account feedback from our Steering Committee, here are some of the areas they’d like to see covered
- All seminars should be totally independent with no sales pitches
- A strong focus on multichannel
- The latest solutions to the critical supply chain challenges
- Lots of ideas are being driven by the marketing departments, so more CRM seminars and even more marketing managers to be targeted to attend
- How retailers can communicate better with customers – for example using social media, e mail, iPad’s and other tablet devices, etc.
- CEO’s that can provide a view across the business are a big draw
- Vendors can be involved but they should act as hosts and if presenting need to do so with a retailers
- Leading consultants and analysts would be of interest as seminar presenters
- Facts and figures and trends, rather than lots of case studies...but...
- Case studies can be good, to bring in people from other areas of the business
- Delegates came to learn, and want more educational content, with cutting edge innovation
- A big topic is the SHOPPER and understanding them. Technology is being driven by the shopper, and providing retailers with ways to understand their customers better.
- More on RFID and touch payments
