Retail Business Technology Theatre A & B and the IMRG Theatre
Visitors could take advantage of the FREE dynamic seminar programme in the Retail Business Technology and IMRG seminar theatres. The three theatres operated on a first come first served basis, so there was no need to book for these sessions. Keynote speakers included Paul Coby, IT Director, John Lewis; Mark Fabes, IT Director, Mcdonalds and Paul Willows, Director of Strategy & Architecture, Boots. Speakers from Anthropologie, Beaverbrooks, Debenhams, Encore Tickets, Google, Jaeger, Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Otto, Oxfam, Pamida Stores, Specsavers and Tommy Hilfiger all provided powerful insights into their businesses and industry experts from ARTS, Shop.org, Research Farm and the Centre for Retail Research are only a few of the industry experts who delivered unmissable presentations over the two days.
Cards & Payments Conference and Briefings
Cards & Payments Solutions is a dedicated exhibition and conference, focused exclusively on cards and payments solutions in retail co-located with Retail Business Technology Expo.
Run in association with Vendorcom, the cards & payments community, it hosted the first Vendorcom Quarterly Cards & Payments Thought Leadership Conference of 2012. This year’s theme was “Cards & Payments: Beyond the Legacy” which delivered visionary and challenging information on the future focus of the industry as a whole and was followed by a second full day of authoritative and pragmatic seminar briefings for retailers on topics of current interest.
Global Retail Forum at Retail Business Technology Expo
Global Retail Forum (GRF), the world’s leading professional network exclusively for retailers, is partnering with Retail Business Technology Expo to run a whole series of meetings with key industry speakers over the two days during the Expo. These were held in their own dedicated theatre at Retail Business Technology Expo, providing its members, their colleagues and non – members the opportunity to meet and network in a specially created International Pavilion.
Each session had a main speaker or panel of speakers who discussed relevant issues to these job areas and had plenty of opportunities for questions and discussions afterwards. The meetings focused on key areas: legal, merchandising, IT, Business Management, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain and eCommerce, supporting Retail Business Technology Expo’s campaign to make the event a must visit for the entire retail team.

Pecha Kucha Theatre
The Pecha Kucha theatre featured 20 presentation each day - but each one lasted just 6 minutes and 40 seconds! Pecha Kucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where just 20 images are show, each for 20 seconds. The broad range of topics vary from managed services – QR codes – global multichannel payments – cloud computing - Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) on the shop floor – mobile wallets – optimised retailing – RFID - online marketing – mobile channels….. if you want a clear and simple overview with no waffle – Pecha Kucha is the place for you!
