Andreas leads a research domain which focuses on IT in the global retail sector. His responsibilities include shaping the strategy and agenda for creating new data products, market studies and vendor profiles. His coverage areas include hardware and software solutions that run in retailers’ stores and data centres, such as servers, storage, networking, systems management and orchestration software.

Andreas also provides thought leadership on Big Data, the Internet of Things, Hybrid Cloud, Omnichannel and Smart Store concepts, as well as retail-specific analytics, management and point-of-sale applications.

Prior to joining Current Analysis, Andreas worked for IDC where he covered the European server, data centre and Big Data markets. As part of his research, Andreas contributed to trackers and forecasts, and compiled various studies that included advice for IT vendors and end-users. He has also presented at industry conferences and been quoted in major industry publications.

His previous employers include the retailer Aldi, Bloomberg, Lloyds TSB and Siemens. Andreas holds an MSc in International Management from King’s College London.
